Coworking

Traditionally, society forces us to choose between working at home for ourselves or working at an office for a company. If we work at a traditional 9 to 5 company job, we get community and structure, but lose freedom and the ability to control our own lives. If we work for ourselves at home, we gain independence but suffer loneliness and bad habits from not being surrounded by a work community. Coworking is a solution to this problem.
— Brad Neuberg (First person to use the term "Coworking" and founder of first coworking space - The Spiral Muse in San Fransisco)

The Space

The Edison is the creative dream of entrepreneurs and business owners, Phil and Lindsey Baquie. Both Phil and Lindsey own and operate successful small businesses in Oxford. Phil is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Oxford Counseling Center. Lindsey is the owner of Oxford's award winning spa, Epicure Day Spa. Together, they were inspired to open a space in Oxford close to the square that would harvest an environment to inspire and encourage other small business owners and those looking for a place to start their business. The Edison is not just about business, it's about something far greater: community. It's a creative workspace that stimulates members to dynamic interaction with other members, thereby creating cross pollination of ideas, networking, and opportunity.

Membership ranges from casual coffee house style seating, private desks in a shared workspace to fully furnished private offices. All levels of membership includes the fastest fiber optic internet and an endless supply of The Edison's own blend of locally roasted coffee. Explore each level of membership for perks like access to our meeting and conference spaces.

Not only is the concept of The Edison creative and fresh so is the style. From the moment you walk in, you will appreciate the combination of the old world industrial feel featuring rustic flooring, exposed wooden beam ceilings with pendant lighting, and crisp white walls. The yesteryear look is complimented by the latest in interior design featuring furniture by Stash Oxford.
